We are seeking a dynamic candidate for a small, well established space systems company, founded in 1994 in Fairfax Virginia. Their business is the design and manufacture of satellite components, satellites and the operation of space-data-as-a-service (SDaS). The business operates in both the commercial and national security space sectors.

Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our office, ensuring efficiency and professionalism in all aspects of administrative support.

This position is Part-time, or full-time possibility depending on qualifications.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Oversee company registrations and regulatory filings with government agencies such as the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) and other related agencies
• Oversee filings with government agencies to obtain necessary export licenses for controlled goods and services
• Manages company HR and interfaces and negotiates with third-party payroll provider, e.g., health insurance, 401K, etc.
• Assist daily office administration and general activities of the business, including inventory management, shipping/receiving, keeping insurance policies up-to-date
• Manages accounts receivables/payables in conjunction with company’s third party accounting services provider
• Assist with ensuring company compliance with all applicable laws, regulations and customer contractual requirements
• Assists with tax preparation and submissions
• Prepares monthly employee timesheets with associated reports

Qualifications:

• A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree, either in Accounting, Science, Finance or related field
• 5 years of experience in similar role of office management for small businesses
• Transactional accounting experience using QuickBooks or similar software for/in a professional organization
• Capacity and commitment to work nominal 20 hours a week during traditional daytime business hours supporting clients
• Ability to communicate clearly and professionally, both orally and in writing
• Willingness to consistently and accurately follow established policies and procedures
• A passion for and sense of personal satisfaction in delighting clients and helping small businesses succeed
• Confidence in learning and embracing new technology to solve client issues
• Experience in developing strong team relationships based on trust, accountability, integrity, and sharing of best practices
• Commitment to maintain the highest level of confidentiality while working with client data
• Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and all related software
• Demonstrates the highest ethical standards
